Valentine's day is coming!

Girls are thinking of what to wear while guys are cracking their heads over where to dine

Felt that flowers are a waste of money cause I always ended up don't really know what to do with them...

My very first post for 2012!
Considering Jan 2012 is almost over and I finally publishing this post, I presume I'm really quite busy.
What exactly am I busy with?
Ans: Nothing much at all (other than work and sleep)

Decided to keep my New Year Resolution short and simple
It will just be... Be happy
In fact, it only sound easy but definitely hard to achieve. Nobody is going to argue this with me
Anyway, life is short, live well. :)

While many people are celebrating Chinese New Year, our family aren't really in the mood of celebration. Rushed down to Mount Elizabeth on the very first day of CNY cause my uncle was critically ill, warded in ICU
Lucky he managed to push through a few more days, which according to the older generation, it's supposed to be better~
Still, intubated and depending of medicine to maintain his blood pressure are devastating to us all
At the very least, he left peacefully

I wonder...
I am getting old, so is my mum and everyone else
How many more decades do we exactly have here and together?
Life is short, isn't it?

Okay, ignore the heavy issues
Quite some time back already, the H&M models (nose bled!)

It has been mad busy after i am back from Hong Kong.

Less than a month, yet it seems quite ages ago!

December is going to be packed with activities as well

Guess year end are always busy and filled with celebrations & festivals

After celebration for my birthday in October and next come, Christmas! Not forgetting, everyone is celebrating the coming of Dec Bonus.

Soon it will be the time to set the "forever cannot achieve" New Year Resolutions~

Even though alot of people know that it's just set for the purpose of having one, i think it still serve well. Don't we all take some time off our always deem busy schedule, pause and think deeply about the things that we hope or wish to attain....

Perhaps it is a time for us to reflect on our past year, about what has been done and what is missing

Some may realise the importance of certain thing, while others just continue as usual

Still, at the moment of writing, we know what we have in mind

So i am really looking forward to mine~

Anyway, i have attended two wedding dinners for two consecutive weeks and a third one this month

Okay, end of the flat issue for now.
We decided not to take the units for both Segar Palmview & Meadow. It was a struggle but still after looking through all the remaining units, it was quite clear that the answer was to give up.
:)

Some units were facing the carparks or the main road which were not desirable, at least to us.
Well, since it is a place to live for a good 5-10 yrs, it's better not to get a unit for the sake of getting one...

Look on the bright side, there will definitely one that is for me! HDB, pls do your job and supply more btos, esp in BP!!!

3 days of conference at Resort World Sentosa
Woke up early at 6 am daily and travel across Singapore to the venue. Lucky to have my colleague's husband driving us over for the first two days and the last was pretty smooth as there's no traffic jam

Everyone was super well fed by the organisers
Imagine, 10am breakfast break, followed by 12noon lunch break and lastly tea break at 3pm
Breakfast and tea break were loaded with cakes and waffles or sandwiches
Lunch was buffet style, including various salad, soup & bread, main dishes and ended with fruits & cakes
After eating for three days, it's really enough for now
I am quite sure i have put on a few kilos just by attending the talks and sitting down with aircon blasting

Ended today early, went to Singapore Poly for a meeting with the lecturers tgt with my colleagues. I must say, my colleague, really has a gift in talking and talking. (not nonsense at the same time)
Let me wonder, whenever, can i control a group like this?
But i am sure, there are improvement over the years. I did voice out my opinions and suggestions to the SP side.
Whether anot it is considered, my job is done. :)

Should i really consider lower levels?
Maybe i should go level 3 and have a look with Mr GY. But he is staying at level 3 too...

Pros:
1) Flat value will be cheaper, meaning easier to pay off
2) Can choose Meadow also
3) We don't have to go through another flat selection process

Cons:
1) lower levels meaning harder to sell/ lower value
2) Any events at void deck will be super noisy
3) possible cockroaches/ lizards/ bees/ insects flying in!!!!

As a very hardworking potential flat buyer from HDB, how can i miss the launch of the Sales of Balance Flats!
Wow, the locations offered are FANTASTIC!

First of all, Clementi/ Queenstown/ Bukit Merah area are sooooo HOT!
Loved the clementi ones the most...
Cause it is near MRT station, sports stadium, shopping mall, hawker/food court, nearby good pri sch (Nan Hua Pri hor! don't play play)
So, U must agree!
SUPER GREAT LOCATION. right!!!!!!!

But looking at the cost, it is freaking high, 500K+++
This value is given by HDB, imagine how much those flat can fetch in the resale market?! COV wise...

Thinking of its potential resale value and the facilities around, no wonder this SOBF is so much more popular than the concurrent BTO projects
If i have the money, i probably don't mind going for it
But, for now, not possible~
Don't wish to tie ourselves down too much with this huge housing burden currently
Given my wonderful brain, i will (confirm plus chop be) highly stress out thinking of it :)

Okay, GY and me finally sit down in front of the computer and start searching on our soon-to-come Hong Kong Trip!
I know I know, FINALLY

Ytd was rather productive
cause we booked our hotel and shortlisted several places to go
Now, it's for him to plan and me to search on more shopping (must go) and food!

My friend suggested me to stay over at Mongkok Hotel which is situated nicely near MTR Mongkok & Ladies Street! All within 5 mins walk only~
AND the price is rather cheap also! (for hong kong standard)
It's about 60 SGD per night~!~! (480 SGD for 8 days(

My friend said that it's quite clean though...
I will see for myself in Nov! :D
At least for now, it's pocket-friendly~~~

I'm abit disappointed with Pink Room Academy after receiving their call

Initially i reserved a seat for their upcoming nail seminar on 5th Sept, hoping to gain more knowledge about their courses and nail art
Went down to their office personally (which is so near my office) a few weeks ago and make the booking after talking to the staff and checking out on the fees

Now they called to check if i can consider giving this a miss and join another one
She was saying that it might be too skill-related and profound for my understanding which i thought, if i want to learn some basic, i won't be coming to your doorstep and keen for learning

Isn't it abit too wasteful of my time?
I can jolly well master those basic myself

Reason being
There are too many people signing up, meaning it will be rather packed
AND
I stated that i am learning it more for my interest/ hobby

So based on the above reasons, they were hoping that i can give up my slot for others who are more BUSINESS-orientated!
Come on, i made the reservation way before and if i never rememer wrongly, the list of confirmed attendance was not even 10 at that time~

I guess it is only courteous to re-confirm if i am going
For those who exceeded the no. of available seats, Pink Room can always open another seminar for them, isn't it?
The venue is at their office, it can surely be arranged!

Woke up in the morning, my legs or rather the feet are aching like mad due to consecutive 2 days of walking & shopping

Was looking at my shoes and decided to wear my oxford heels that i gotten in Taiwan like close to a year ago? It was actually pointed out when i was watsapp-ing a friend and i am really amazed at how fast time flies~

And my mum was telling me, "oh, you finally wear it! You can wear socks with it also" Gosh, she even notice my buys & pretty good fashion sense...

Some time back, Yuki came over to Sg for a short trip with her bf
I managed to meet her for a dinner and bringing her around a few places

Figured that bringing her for some local food will be the best option since eating is the fav activity for most Singaporean (me included~ *lol*)

Met her while i was in Australia, at Surfer Paradise YMCA backpacker hostel
Why did i made that trip back then?
Taking the plane alone and booking everything...
Seriously i don't have much clue but i guess it forced me to leave my comfort zone and something i promise myself to do quite sometime back

Oh ya, she is the one who encouraged me to take on the Skydiving coz she tried it and was totally in love with it too

Heard that the queue no. is till 30 for 4 rooms Bukit Panjang July BTO (as of today)

Taken Flats so far:
Segar Meadow- 22 units
Segar Palmview: 6 units
Total: 28 units

Does it means that 2 couple dropout?!?!
Calculated rate of dropout is then 6.7%

Still means that i don't stand a chance....

Busy with everything and anything, just not blogging. :)

Anyway, we finally decided to join the massive crowd and start bidding for BTO.
Heard that the recent July BTO is likely to be the last few in bukit panjang, so decided to go ahead with it.

Calculated and still feel 4 rooms flat is more affordable and managable for us
At least we will not be super debt ridden for the next 30 yrs of life

Total of 590 units available and my pathetic queue number is 67X...
Meaning we are 80+ slots away for one unit and we will only be left with low level ones
Imagine living at level 2 or 3, it will be so noisy and likely to have dust or insects flying in!!!
*mc cry*

Initial thought was aiming for Segar Meadow since the design are already planned
Timber flooring for bedroom and solid doors etc...
Now, i doubt we can get!

Took Cathay Pacific (Sgd-Hk-Tpe)
If i am not wrong, cost him close to 600 bucks per ticket
Cause we booked quite late and i was close to telling him: let's forget about the trip
Really glad that we went after all! :)

Arrhhh....We were pretty shag after changing our plane at hongkong and waiting and stuff.
I remembered i'm pretty irritated by the HK airport due to the constant reminder/ announce of something like " be careful of the platform/steps"
The cantonese part didn't help a single bit!

Was basically left with not much energy to take pictures and we FINALLY landed at Tpe airport Considering between CAB and BUS and we chose the later

Well, i insisted on taking a bus because... it's alot cheaper!
Taxi to hotel : 1K NTD
Bus to hotel/ main train station: ~ 300- 350 NTD only (sorry dun remember the exact amount alr)
Of course take the bus la~
somemore, felt like some adventure-filled trip taking Kuo Kuang bus

Was it last last week that it happened?

I can't really remember too well. Some friends call me goldfish cause my memory is equally bad. Theirs are about 3 seconds and they will forget, also one of the reason why they never seems bored even if their tanks are so small~

Sometimes, it is not that i want to forget but i seriously don't remember. Sadly

Often, they can be things that are important too.

And i have the tendency to remember the wrong things as well. Well tested and proven

Have been thinking of getting a new television for quite a while

Erm, i think started some IT fair ago and they managed to talk me out cause i don't really need one. Mine was still functioning pretty ok back then

Anyway, i started noticing that the image of my TV is abit "blur". Perfect excuse to get one!

Of course, GY also was commenting that perhaps it's time to replace it~

Just happened that his bro wanted a new tv and GY's job is to find a reasonable one and bring it back!

Apparently i happily tagged along!

People remember to avoid this taxi if you need one

The uncle told us he is okay to pick up and we struggled like a good 10-15 mins putting two 40" tv into his cab and guess what~

He asked us to wait indefintely while he tried to settle some dispute with another driver! Even the security guard was telling us, we should have avoided this taxi.

So nevermind, we waited like 5 mins, doing nothing but sitting in his taxi and he is still NOT done. Didn't even bother coming back to us to apology or say a single thing.

Apparently, i got heated up and wanted to confront him but GY went faster than me.

In the end, we shifted our stuff out (which is another 10 mins) and he is STILL STILL STILL NOT DONE!

Note, not single sorry was said.

I was soooo angry that i snapped a picture of his car plate and wanted very much to complain to comfort taxi.

But i went home and start fixing my new toy up and sort of forgotten about it...

Last point, we fixed everything up and realise it is actually the cable that is faulty, resulting to the image to be blur/ jumpy

Finally finished my presentation Part I

I was still contemplating to lock the meeting room when the number 8 person turned up but of course, doubt my boss will allow me to do that

( cause they were saying minimum number of people attending is 8)

Anyway, it did went on smoothly other than the stupid projector that refused to detect my laptop. We even pulled the IT guy in to check and i openly "hint" him that my laptop is crap~ Wonder if he will change a new one for me

Felt as if the projector is trying to tell my boss- NOOOOO, don't get her to present!

Attending Miss Ong's wedding dinner at Trader's Hotel last Sunday.

I was laughing throughout the whole event cause it's sooooo funny!
It's just so "their theme".
Yup, guess they really did alot in planning and making sure the "them" spirit is felt.

Something is WRONG today!

First I saw two car accidents on my way to office…

1) The usual two cars being too in love with each other and decided to “kiss” on the spot Thanks God there seems to be no casualty but not without the massive jam at Eng Neo to Stevens.

2) A driver of a pretty sleek black car decided that life is abit plain without stuns and want to perform a super interesting one. He drove straight into the bushes, passing the pavement. Not to mention, a 180 degree flip to impress the traffic police.

With lots of alarming news everyday from Japan about the raising radiation level, possible melt down of the core and the number of deaths and missing people, many like me who are not so diligent in reading the world news, can’t help but start paying more attention. Hmmm or maybe, can’t help but have to listen because it is just everywhere.

Many commented that they are pretty amazed by the calmness and orderliness of the Japanese during this worst ever earthquake, I don’t think they enjoy being praise at such time. Personally, I rather not know of this fact. It’s scary to know how fragile humans are actually. We may think that we are well protected within the formidable steel, bricks, and iron buildings. Yet a test from the Mother Nature and we are all defeated.

Human are after all, just made of bones and flesh. Nothing indestructible

Heard from friend about people talking about escape route out of the Earth, to outer space OR the idea that was already been thought about especially in those science fantasy movies

But if I am the sole survivor among my family/ friends, maybe dying is a better option. At the very least, I am with all those that I care.

Isn’t it so?

How often do we see those who live, enjoyed themselves?

Gym session during lunch time is such a rush. I don't like it...
Managed to run on treadmill for ~ 30 mins, 4 km covered

Did I mention that I hated amore jurong point?!
Cause their staff gave me attitude when I enquired about their package a yr back. As I wanted just a pamphlet, they didn't want to entertain me and even asked me to return when I have the time. Afterwhich, she went ahead and continue talking
to her colleague!
I was stunned back then and I'm not going back to them!!!!

But heard from my friend, who recently gotten her package at Tampines, that they were all right .
$120 Per month for unlimited usage, she better max out all she can!
Hopefully she can see the result she wanted too!

For me to visit amore, not very likely... Unless my impression of them changes

IT Fair 2011

Stunning number of people who are there, i'm one as well.

Went with lesi, who is looking for a laptop

and me, a hard disk and initially wanting to get a TV.

I guess the "free admission" is one of luring point.

There are people who brought their babies along. Not sure if that is a good idea, cause it's not a small crowd and it's not that enjoying for them.

Yes, LED HD is the lastest technology.

But few thousand for a TV, not very affordable to a poor person like me.

Of course, the resolution, the clarity and all, there is a huge difference especially if you are playing movies like Avatar... it's freaking awesome.

But in terms of friendliness to my pocket, highly UNFRIENDLY.

Maybe i should do some research about the constrast ratio etc before i go for my next IT fair.

If a 16Gb iphone can hold about 3500 songs,

a 1 Gb micro Sd card can hold 300-500 pictures...

500 Gb can hold 150,000 - 250,000 pictures

& 109375 songs

Guess, i can probably use the hard disk for quite a long while!

Worst day ever! Ultra glad that it's finally over.
With a good night slp, a brand new fresh day will start again...
The power of time...

Started the day bad, was on my way to work
Got pissed off by the traffic as usual
Got pissed off by the squeezing auntie by my side, as if by standing super close to me will change anything
Like making the whole bus empty, having more seats available or what...
Got pissed off by someone's msg though unintentional

Eventually reaching the office in a foul mood, hoping to calm down and get started with my work
And ya, things cropped up and I've to spend time crack my head and seeking opinions from seniors
Settled.
Happily remembering abt my appointment with ICA for passport collection
AND
Realized I forgotten to bring my old passport, which I'll need seriously
So I started panicking and planning or thinking of ways to get my hands on it
Called my mum and she is so nt coming town within a short while

Decided that taking a cab home and to ICA is the best way out
Not forgetting askin permission from my senior, especially the fact that I will come back office slightly later, after my lunch time
Total cab fare: 30 bucks including a free ride for my mum to bugis
Went up and down ICA for the collection, directed go lvl 2 to 3 and back to 2 again
After all the hassle, mission accomplished!
Passport checked! Identity card checked!
Lucky the wait was nt long as I have made an appt earlier on

Back in office, hungrily gobbled down chicken mc grill burger
Horrible chicken with skin, almost spitted all out but sorry I'm just frigging too hungry
Only consolation was the fluffy bread which I didn't finished as well
Am I being to pricky with food? Anyone who share the same sentiments abt the burger?!?!

Finally managed to settle back in office, clearing my piling work
Had to deal with a super nasty client and I was almost going to scream at her
Hanged up the phone and sharing with the colleagues
Staying at private hse but complain of how expensive the services are
Suggested a cheaper alternative and complain abt the long waiting n queuing time
So what do u want me to do?
Pay for u? You gotta be kidding me!

Finally finally after all the drama, survived till end of work
On my way to meet my mum n sister, whom both are enjoying tremendously shopping at Bugis
Ya, the blur me mixed up the venue yet again!
Was makig my way to Chinatown instead, realized it after receiving a call from my sister
Rushed my way to bugis... to find the two of them sipping coffee and eating cheesecake at Starbucks!

Okay, nt forgetting getting angry at someone who can't hear properly abt what I was talking
Scolded him and after awhile, find myself too stupid for such random things
Sms him a few mins later, and all is well...

A hell lot from a day
If Monday is blue, I feel this Monday is charcoal black
Tomorrow can only be better and I'm glad thinking this way
I presume I've a talent for making drama in my life, exciting and sickening at the same time

Uploaded my iphone photos to the computer and ya, i have tons of phots not loaded nor arranged.
From 2009 till now.
Super lazy ya?!?!

bangkok, cambodia, australia, turkey/israel, taiwan...
all struck in the memory card and computer
Usual daily stuff as well

And recently realise i have been neglecting my digital camera ever since i was using iphone. The convenience of iphone and loading, result in me forgetting that a camera is still way better in terms of the pictures' clarity and colour.

So it's time to polish the camera and snap snap snap

Watched Andy lau's new show, shaolin.
The show was ok, with predicted ending. Andy being the good guy in the end.
Fight was nice as always.
Jackie's appearance added some comical scenes! His style forever

Everything was ok, other than a super loud Chinese auntie sitting behind us.
She was talking non stop at the back, commenting on the show.
Not only could we heard her, those sitting behind her could also! At certain time, it did torture us yet at some, i just keep laughing because of her. Because of her comment & her hilarious loud laughter.

Wanted to turn back and ask her to lower her volume but figured out that she will just argue with me. I can only pity her son who obviously knew that every single one is annoyed by her and requested her to keep quiet but ended up received some scolding from his mum.

Made the second batch of pineapple tarts with the remaining paste.
Added milk powder to the current recipe that I'm using and cut alittle of the butter
it's mc's high calcium milky pineapple tarts!

*lol*

I realised pineapple tarts will smell and taste better if you keep them for a few days!
The butter aroma will then be strong. :)
so happy that there are ppl saying it's yummy!
My mum's friend even came over to my house to ask me for my recipe while I was baking!

Just watched "burlesque" with lesi at PS.
Two of us were trying to figure out how on earth do we pronouce the word, fearing that the person don't understand and also be embarassed
especially having the previous experience of IP man ( supposed to be yip man in hanyu)
I ended up whipping out my iPhone with the wonderful & handy dictionary.

I just gotta say again, iPhone apps are just too great!
Pronouce as " bur-lesk" ( quiet k or a v short k sound at the end)
so all those who are planning and MUST watch the show, you've gotten the right pronoucation.

After the show, I bet most will be like me wondering what is Cher's age... It's 64!
